EHS Specialist

Location: Ontario, CA – 100% Onsite
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $70,000–$78,500 + 10% Quarterly Bonus

CV Resources is partnering with a leading precision manufacturing organization to hire an EHS Specialist for its Ontario, CA facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional with manufacturing experience who wants to take ownership of site-level safety programs, work directly with plant leadership, and make a visible impact on safety culture and compliance.

Position Overview

The EHS Specialist will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs across a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This role reports directly to the site's General Manager and will spend significant time on the manufacturing floor partnering with production, maintenance, and leadership teams.

The position will also support export and trade compliance activities , including responsibilities related to ITAR and EAR regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-wide EHS and occupational safety programs
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and workplace safety audits
  • Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses
  • Identify workplace hazards and drive corrective actions through completion
  • Support programs related to LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, hazard communication, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene
  • Lead the site's Safety Committee and promote employee engagement around safety
  • Develop and deliver employee safety training
  • Partner closely with production supervisors, maintenance teams, and plant leadership
  • Support environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, and audits
  • Coordinate third-party safety and industrial hygiene consultants
  • Assist with emergency response and business continuity initiatives
  • Serve as a site resource for export/trade compliance , including ITAR and EAR requirements
  • Support export documentation, authorizations, internal compliance reviews, and audits
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical discipline
  • 1-3+ years of EHS, safety, or industrial hygiene experience
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment required
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
  • Experience with LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, and hazard communication
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively influence employees and leadership
  • Comfortable working regularly on an active manufacturing floor

Highly Preferred:

  • Aerospace, defense, machining, metals, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and U.S. export/import regulations
  • Industrial hygiene or ergonomics experience
Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range is $70,304–$78,500 , depending on experience and qualifications. The position is also eligible for a quarterly cash bonus program .

Benefits include 160 hours of PTO annually, 10 paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

Additional Requirements

This position requires regular presence within an active manufacturing environment and the use of appropriate PPE, including metatarsal steel-toed footwear and eye/hearing protection.

The position may also require access to information or manufacturing processes subject to U.S. export-control regulations, including ITAR and EAR . Candidates must meet applicable U.S. export-control authorization requirements.
